Project Description:

Provide assistance to SWA in identifying and resolving shortcomings with existing disinfection facilities supplied at five water treatment plants and sixteen borehole pumping stations across the islands of Upolu and Savaii, Samoa

Project Services:

The services provided by KEW in association with SMEC involved the inspection of treatment and disinfection facilities, analysis of the most appropriate and cost effective method of disinfection, recommendations for facility (building) requirements and rehabilitation and the detailed design, technical specifications and drawings for these recommendations. In addition, KEW/SMEC prepared a detailed schedule of all equipment and spares needs in Bill of Quantity format together with technical specifications.

KEW prepared:

– Full Tender Documents and engineer’s cost estimate for the construction of 3 new chlorination facilities at the Malololelei, Alaoa and Fuluasou (JR) Water Treatment Plants, rehabilitation of chlorination facilities at Fuluasou (EU) and Faleata WTPs and rehabilitation of chlorination facilities at 16 No. borehole sites in a single works contract.

– Full Tender Documents and engineer’s cost estimate for the supply, installation, commissioning and provision of operations training of all recommended systems, equipment and spares in a single supply, install, commission and train
