PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Pacific Islands Applied Geoscience Commission (SOPAC), have signed an agreement with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) to develop an innovative programme on Sustainable Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).

This project was implemented in two phases.  The first phase was to develop an IWRM concept note and Hot Spot Analysis for Samoa.  This analysis allowed the identification of ‘hot spot’ areas to be targeted for the demonstration project.

The second phase included the coordination and write up of the proposal for the demonstration project.
